News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump has made a surprising claim. This time, regarding Osama bin Laden, he claimed that he had warned the then-US government about him exactly one year before the 9/11 attacks.
President Trump claimed that his views were ignored by the then-US government. Amidst all this, Trump, who has claimed credit for stopping several wars in recent times, attempted to take credit here as well. He even said that if no one gives you credit for your actions, you should take it yourself.
President Trump again asked for another credit.
In fact, President Trump addressed an event in Norfolk, Virginia, marking the 250th anniversary of the US Navy. During the event, Trump also mentioned the former head of the terrorist organization al-Qaeda. He said, “Everyone should remember that I wrote about Osama bin Laden exactly one year before the 9/11 attacks. I asked the then-US government to keep an eye on bin Laden.”
Not only that, Trump even said that if his statement about Osama turned out to be false, it would be news by tomorrow. This is why he's telling the truth.
Trump claims he saw bin Laden
During the same event, the US President said, "I wrote to the then US government, saying, 'I've heard about and seen a man named Osama bin Laden. I don't like him, and you (the government) need to take care of him.'" He added that, although the government didn't do that, he added, “I still have to take some credit for it. I'm taking credit because no one else will.”
When did Trump's book come out?
It's worth noting that US President Donald Trump also mentioned his book, "The America We Deserve." This book, published in 2000, was likely the book Trump was referring to, having been published a year before the terrorist attacks in the United States.
However, it should be noted that it is not entirely clear whether the US government was warned about bin Laden. No official statement has yet been issued on this matter.
