For the first time, this comprehensive exercise was conducted simultaneously across 41 forest divisions, with the Forest Department, NDRF, SDRF, police, health, fire, and district administrations participating.

Leading the exercise, Sushant Patnaik (CCF Forest Fire) explained that the mock drill's purpose was to test coordination between departments, response time, resource availability, and technical preparedness. He said, "A balance of technology, human resources, and coordination is crucial for effectively combating forest fires."

41Live monitoring of divisions was done

All 41 divisions were monitored live from the Integrated Control Center at Forest Headquarters in Dehradun. As soon as a potential fire was reported, the relevant teams rushed to the scene following established protocols. In response to a simulated fire alert in the Mussoorie Forest Division, a joint exercise was conducted involving the ITBP, the municipal corporation, and veterinarians. Large-scale drills were also conducted in Haldwani and the Mansa Devi area of Haridwar to test response times. Prioritizing wildlife safety, ambulances and veterinarians were also involved.

Following the mock drill, detailed reports will be sent to headquarters from all 41 divisions. Based on these reports, deficiencies will be identified and corrective measures will be taken during the fire season.

Fire fighting capabilities will be strengthened

According to Sushant Patnaik, this exercise is not just a formality but a concrete preparation before a real disaster. He says this coordinated effort will strengthen the ability to protect forests from fires in the coming months.
