News Topical, Digital Desk : A woman was brutally beaten up and forced to wear a garland of shoes by a group of villagers in Tripura's Dhalai district for her alleged extramarital affair. The mother of two sons was dragged out of her house in Harrakhola village under Kamalpur police station on Saturday morning and subjected to physical and mental harassment, police said on Sunday.

A woman was lying on the road

A police team arrived at the scene and found the woman lying on the road. She was later taken to the district hospital in Ambassa, where she underwent a CT scan. She is out of danger. A case was registered against several individuals at the Kamalpur police station on Saturday, and an investigation is underway.

one accused arrested

So far, one person has been arrested in the case. Tripura Commission for Women (TCW) chairperson Jharna Debbarma strongly condemned the incident and said the police have already registered a special case and arrested one accused.
