News Topical, Digital Desk : China has set a new record for train speed. China has tested its fastest Maglev train. This train reached a speed of 700 km/h in just two seconds. This train has established a new dimension in terms of speed.
This train's speed is so fast that it disappears before you even realize it. Researchers at China's National University of Defense Technology conducted a test on a magnetic levitation train, which weighs over 1 ton.
According to media reports, the test was conducted on a 400-meter (1,310-foot) maglev track. The train reached its peak speed, ran for a short distance, and then was stopped. The train remained safe throughout all phases, making it the fastest superconducting electric maglev train ever.
How strong is the acceleration?
The train floats above the tracks using superconducting magnets, which lift and propel it without touching the tracks. It's said that the train's acceleration is so powerful it can even launch a rocket. At this speed, Maglev could connect long-distance cities in minutes.
According to a report in the South China Morning Post, it addresses key technological challenges, including ultra-high-speed electromagnetic propulsion, electric suspension guidance, transient high-power energy storage inversion, and high-field superconducting magnets.
How does this train suddenly pick up so much speed?
The technology used to increase the speed of maglev trains is called electromagnetic acceleration. Rockets and planes can use electromagnetic systems for faster, smoother takeoffs, reducing fuel consumption and costs.
Work on the project has been ongoing for 10 years
It's worth noting that the team behind this breakthrough has been working on the project for 10 years. The train was tested on the track earlier this year and achieved a top speed of 648 km/h.
