TMC MLA's house raided in RG Kar Hospital case, CBI checked documents in the office:

News Topical, Digital Desk : A team of CBI officials on Saturday raided the residence of TMC MLA Dr. Sudipta Roy in North Kolkata in connection with the investigation into alleged financial irregularities in the purchase of medical equipment at the government RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata.

The Srirampur MLA was not at his home when the officials reached there. The CBI officials also visited the nursing home owned by Rai and examined the papers in his office. In September 2024, the CBI had questioned the TMC MLA at his residence in connection with the investigation into the rape and murder of a woman doctor at the hospital.

The family of the deceased doctor had claimed that they had found large-scale irregularities in the purchase of medical equipment and medicines in the government hospital. It may be noted that on August 9 last year, the body of the doctor was found with marks of injuries in the RG Kar Hospital premises.
