News Topical, Digital Desk : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday reached out to the Christian community on the occasion of Easter, urging them to stand with the BJP-led NDA and help form the government in Kerala in the assembly elections to be held on April 9.
Shah said the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections are not just about changing the government but about improving the future of the state and now the time has come to form a BJP-led front government in the state.
Greetings to the Christian community on Easter
In Kunnathunadu, Amit Shah said the NDA's vote share has increased in Kerala since the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He extended Easter greetings to the Christian community and appealed to them to support the NDA so it can form a government in Kerala.
"I appeal to my brothers and sisters from the Christian community to stand with the NDA and help build a prosperous Kerala," he said. His appeal comes at a time when there are concerns among the Christian community in the Christian-dominated state of Kerala over the recent amendments to the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) by the Centre.
Taking a dig at Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, he said the Marxist leader has started a new name-changing startup. Vijayan changes the names of all centrally funded projects in the state to take credit for them.
Flowers showered during the roadshow
Amit Shah held a road show from Methottam Bijith Junction to Naduvattom in Kozhikode, where hundreds of BJP supporters wearing saffron caps and carrying party flags lined both sides. Shah, in an open vehicle decorated with flowers, accepted greetings. To the beat of drums, the Home Minister showered flowers on the crowd.

Nemom Assembly constituency, considered the gateway of the Bharatiya Janata Party to the Kerala Assembly, is set to witness a triangular contest between the LDF, UDF and the BJP-led NDA in the 2026 elections.
Kerala Education Minister and CPI(M) leader V. Sivankutty is seeking to retain the Nemom seat. He previously lost the seat to BJP leader O. Rajagopal in 2016, marking the BJP's first assembly victory in the state.
