News Topical, Digital Desk : Several Indians have been named in British King Charles III's New Year's Honours list. Punjabi-born actress and author Meera Syal is among those named.

The British King will also honor Professor Meena Upadhyay, who was born in India, on New Year's Day 2026. The King's list includes 1,157 people, 14 percent of whom are ethnic minorities.

Who will receive the honor from the British King?

64-year-old Meera Syal is among the recipients of British King Charles' New Year's Day honors. Her parents immigrated to the United Kingdom from Delhi. Meera Syal is a writer and star of the British Asian TV comedy series "Goodness Gracious Me."

Meena Upadhyaya lived in Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh. She moved to the UK at the age of 19. She was honored for her services to community cohesion and medical genetics in Wales.

Big respect to Kohli too

Fashion entrepreneur and founder of the beautiful collection Mani Kohli will also be honored in the United Kingdom. She moved to London from Delhi at the age of 19. Kohli has designed numerous dresses for Bollywood stars and royals.

Dhruv Patel, founder of Citi Hindu Network, and Neeta Atkar, senior independent director of the British Business Bank board, are also named in this list.

TLC Group CEO and British Gujarati Pavan Popat will be honoured for his contribution to adult social care.

Harjinder Singh, founder and co-director of Gurmeet Sangeet Academy, a non-profit Sikh musical school, will also be honored.

Balbir Singh will be honoured by King Charles III for opening the Balbir Singh Dance Academy in Leeds.
