News Topical, Digital Desk : A high-voltage drama unfolded at a wedding venue in Mauranipur, Jhansi district, Uttar Pradesh, when the wedding procession was waiting at the door and the police suddenly arrived. Upon their arrival, the police declared the wedding would not take place. A complaint to 1090 disrupted the celebrations so much that the bride's mehndi dried, and the wedding procession returned empty-handed. But four days later, the truth came out, and the same procession arrived at the bride's doorstep again.

The police and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CWC) received a complaint that both the bride and groom were minors. The bride's side produced certificates, while the groom was declared an adult after a medical examination.

What was the whole matter?

It's reported that the evening in Bhadarwara village, Mauranipur, was ablaze with lights and drums. The bride's henna designs were still fresh on her palms, and the atmosphere in the house was brimming with joy. Suddenly, the sound of a siren brought the entire atmosphere to a halt. Upon arriving at the wedding venue, the police ordered the wedding to be stopped, stating that the boy and girl were minors, and this constituted child marriage. Upon hearing this, the entire atmosphere erupted in terror, terrifying the bride's family and leaving the wedding party stunned.

The bride, Deepa's father, a resident of Bhadarwara village, immediately presented a certificate of majority, which the police found to be valid. However, the groom, Sonu, alias Rameshwar, a resident of Gwali Dhamna, had no proof of age. Being illiterate, he didn't even have a birth certificate.

Medical checkup of the boy

The police stopped the wedding and referred the entire matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation. It was then decided to conduct a medical examination of the groom. Sonu was found to be an adult, but by then it was too late; the wedding procession had returned empty-handed.

All the preparations for the lavish all-night feast were ruined. The bride's family suffered a loss of lakhs of rupees. The bride's eyes were replaced by sadness, and the henna on her hands faded. Four days later, when the medical report came back and confirmed the groom was an adult, the wedding procession resumed. This time, the drums and trumpets were even louder than before. And at the very doorstep where the wedding procession had been turned back, the bride was solemnly sent off.

A person from the village had complained

The investigation also revealed that the person who called 1090 wasn't an unknown person, but a man from the groom's village. To settle a score, he filed a false complaint and disrupted the wedding. Surprisingly, no action has been taken against him. After a stalled wedding procession, dried henna, and four days of struggle, the wedding finally took place. But Bhadarwara village will long forget this night.
