What did China say on the US decision?

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiaqun said, “China urges the US to adhere to a principle and immediately stop the dangerous actions of arming Taiwan.”

US arms supply to Taiwan

Taiwan's Foreign Ministry said the weapons being received from the US include HIMARS rocket systems, howitzers, anti-tank missiles, drones, and other military equipment. This is a major move by Donald Trump, as it is the second such sale since he returned to the US presidency.

Taiwan-China tension

China considers Taiwan a breakaway province and wants to reunite it with mainland China. Taiwan, however, calls itself a sovereign, independent nation. Tensions between the two have been ongoing for decades.
