News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump has once again threatened Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Trump claims he will uproot Khamenei's 37-year rule. Trump said the time has come for new leadership in Iran.
"The best decision Khamenei ever made was not executing over 800 people," Trump said Saturday.
Trump says that Iran is governed by violence and repression. Khamenei has completely destroyed Iran. He is the reason for the violence in Iran.
What did Trump say?
"To run a country, leadership should be focused on the country itself, like in America. It shouldn't be about killing thousands of people to gain control. Leadership is about respect, not fear and death," Trump said. Calling Khamenei a "sick man," Trump said that under his leadership, Iran has become worse than hell. There's no worse place in the world.
Khamenei had targeted
Trump has retorted to Khamenei's statement. Khamenei said that he has broken the backbone of conspiracies in Iran. He blamed Trump for all the deaths. Khamenei called US President Donald Trump a criminal who is responsible for the protests in Iran and the resulting deaths, damage, and disgrace.
More than 3,000 deaths in Iran
According to HRANA, a US-based news agency affiliated with human rights activists, a total of 3,090 people have died in Iran during the protests, including 2,885 protesters and 205 government employees, including security personnel.
More than 10,000 people have been arrested, but the exact number is not yet known. The death toll exceeds the number of people killed during the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
