
News Topical, Digital Desk : Borivali Fire News: A massive fire has broken out in a house in Borivali West area of Mumbai. Initially it seemed like an accident, but CCTV footage revealed that it was a conspiracy. Four accused had deliberately set fire with the intention of burning a woman and her family alive.
The police have registered a case of attempted murder in the case and one accused has been arrested. The arrested accused is named Devraj Siddharth Patil, who is 22 years old. Cases have been registered against the accused earlier as well. The police are searching for three other accused in the case.
Not an accident, but a conspiracy!
The incident took place on May 14 in Ganpat Patil Nagar in Borivali West. The victim Julie Kewat's house caught fire and the bike parked nearby was also reduced to ashes. Initially, it seemed like an accident, but when the CCTV footage was checked, four accused were seen setting the bike and the house on fire. Julie Kewat immediately lodged a complaint at the MHB police station. The police registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sections of attempted murder.
The whole family was sleeping in the house when the fire broke out
Investigation revealed that the victim's son Lucky had a dispute with the accused Shadab over something. Shadab met a person named Murari Chaudhary, after which the dispute escalated. Due to this rivalry, the accused set fire to the bike parked outside Julie Kewat's house and then the house. When the fire broke out, the entire family was sleeping inside the house. Julie Kewat woke up and came out and made noise. With the help of neighbors, the fire was controlled.
Identification of the accused in CCTV footage
Police took action as soon as the accused were identified in the CCTV footage. Accused Devraj Patil was arrested on Friday night. According to the police, he has been involved in many cases earlier as well. Senior Police Inspector Ganesh Pawar said that the investigation has been intensified to search for other accused.
