Here in Ratauli village of Kotwali area, 60-year-old Hakim Singh was brutally murdered by his brother-in-law Raj Bahadur Singh by attacking him with a shovel. After the incident, the accused fled from the spot, the police have registered a case and started investigation.
According to the information, Raj Bahadur Singh, a resident of Mishripur village under Kurara police station area of Hamirpur district, had come to Mahoba 8 days ago to get treatment for mental illness. In connection with the treatment, he was staying at his brother-in-law Hakim Singh's house in Ratauli village. According to the family members, Raj Bahadur was behaving abnormally for several days, but no one expected this tragic outcome. The incident happened early in the morning. On Saturday night, all the family members had gone to sleep after eating dinner. When everyone woke up on Sunday morning, Raj Bahadur suddenly attacked Hakim Singh with a shovel, due to which Hakim Singh died on the spot. After the incident, the accused Raj Bahadur fled.
Family distressed
Hakim Singh's relative Shailendra Singh said that we never thought that something like this could happen. Raj Bahadur Bhaiya was mentally ill, but we thought that he would get well soon. This incident has shattered the entire family.
Police action, accused absconding
As soon as the information about the incident was received, Mahoba police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem after preparing a Panchnama. Police have registered a case of murder and raids are being conducted to arrest the accused. Police is currently considering mental illness as the reason for the murder, but investigation is going on from every angle.
Resentment among villagers
On the other hand, there is a lot of anger among the villagers about this incident. People are demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. According to the villagers, the accused is mentally ill and can attack anyone else. Therefore, he should be caught quickly.
