"The betrayal of public trust will be answered," AAP leaders target BJP on MCD by-elections

News Topical, Digital Desk : The by-election for Ward 76 Chandni Mahal of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has turned into a political showdown. Addressing a large crowd in the area on Thursday (November 27), top Aam Aadmi Party leaders targeted the BJP and the rebel MLA. Targeting the BJP, they stated that this election would be a response to the betrayal of public trust. State President Saurabh Bhardwaj, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, former ministers Gopal Rai and Imran Hussain appealed to voters to support the party candidate.

The circus lion is dancing on the fingers of BJP - Saurabh Bhardwaj

Addressing a gathering at Chandni Mahal, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the BJP has adopted strange methods to influence the elections. He sarcastically said, "There's a circus lion roaming around here. The circus belongs to the BJP, and the lion is dancing to the BJP's command. The lion flags at Turkman Gate belong to the Congress, and as soon as we hoist the flag, the Election Commission arrives."

Now BJP has started breaking parties - Saurabh Bhardwaj

Bhardwaj alleged that the BJP is pursuing a strategy to weaken opposition parties across the country. He cited Maharashtra as an example of how the NCP and Shiv Sena were split up to create new factions. 

He said, "Delhi is no exception. Conspiracy is afoot here too. It was once boastfully claimed that even a water bottle in Matia Mahal would win an election. Now, those same people are going from door to door."

The state president claimed that under the current circumstances, the Matia Mahal MLA's membership will automatically expire within two months. He said, "Chandni Mahal will elect its councilor on November 30th, and a new Matia Mahal MLA will be elected two months later. No one's hooliganism will be tolerated here."

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh took a sharp stance in his address. He said that the family that the party consistently gave opportunities to is now involved in the conspiracy. He said, "In 2020, the father was elected MLA, then the son. They continued to win councillors. We fought all night in the deputy mayoral election. Today, the reward for that hard work is being reaped: tactics are being used to defeat our own candidate. This time, Chandni Mahal will show who the public stands with."

Referring to the Bihar elections, Sanjay Singh said that the BJP is celebrating its victory across the country, but AAP leaders are fighting despite jail terms and pressure. He said, "If you want to distribute sweets in Delhi too, then vote for someone else. But if you want the BJP to bow down, then make Mudassir Usman Qureshi win with a huge margin."

There are four candidates roaming around, but only one is real – Gopal Rai

Former minister Gopal Rai also accused the BJP of fielding a fake lion. He said, "Four people are seeking votes: our candidate, the Congress candidate, the BJP candidate, and a fake lion. Think calmly: can Congress win here? Can the BJP win? No, so the BJP has fielded a Muslim candidate as an independent candidate, whose remote control is in their hands."

Gopal Rai said that the candidate for whom the system appears so smooth clearly has the power machinery behind the scenes assisting him. He said, "His flags never tear. The administration is openly helping. But the public is smart and can distinguish between the real and the fake."
