News Topical, Digital Desk : Trump has given a significant Christmas gift to illegal immigrants living in the United States. He has offered them three times the amount they would have received to leave. Trump says that in addition to the money, the US government will cover their return expenses.
The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced that it will provide $3,000 (approximately Rs 270,000) to illegal immigrants if they agree to leave the US by the end of this year.
What is the new offer?
DHS issued a statement saying, "Any illegal immigrant who applies to the Customs and Border Police (CBP) for deportation by the end of this year will be provided with a free flight to their country along with $3000. Apart from this, all types of fines imposed on them will also be waived."
It's worth noting that in May, Trump's team announced a $1,000 reward for illegal immigrants to leave the country, a measure that has now been tripled for Christmas. The Trump administration has taken this step to expel illegal immigrants from the country as quickly as possible.
How can I apply?
According to DHS, "Illegal immigrants can download the CBP app and enter their information. DHS will take further action. DHS will be responsible for providing them with money, arranging flights, and safely transporting them home."
Team Trump gave warning
DHS has warned that illegal immigrants' only option is to take advantage of this special offer. Failure to do so will result in their arrest and deportation, and they will never be allowed to enter the United States again.
