In the last hearing, questions were raised on the validity of the documents
In the last hearing, the Supreme Court had suggested making Aadhaar, ration card and voter ID valid for voter identification. 65 lakh names will be deleted from voter list in Bihar
The Election Commission released the data of the first phase of Bihar SIR on 27 July. It was told that 65 lakh names will be removed from the voter list in Bihar. Out of these, 22 lakh voters have died, 36 lakh people have permanently shifted, while the names of about 7 lakh people were found in more than one place. The opposition is accusing the Election Commission of working in favor of the BJP, while the BJP alleges that the opposition is making these fabricated allegations due to fear of losing the election.
Opposition attacks the government and the Election Commission
On the other hand, opposition parties are continuously creating ruckus on this issue. On Monday, opposition MPs led by Rahul Gandhi tried to march to the Election Commission on this issue in Delhi.
In view of the opposition's demand, the Election Commission called 30 opposition leaders for talks... but the opposition leaders wanted to go to the Election Commission with 200 MPs... The police did not allow the opposition MPs, who were trying to march without permission, to proceed ahead and took everyone into custody. Rahul Gandhi, this fight is not political... this is a fight for the Constitution. It is a fight to save the Constitution... it is a fight of one man one vote... that is why we want a clean and pure voter list.
