News Topical, Digital Desk : The new year brings some good news for Spider-Man fans. Along with Tom Holland's return as Spider-Man, Nicolas Cage is also set to make his live-action debut in the series Spider-Noir. Cage's request to play his own live-action version of Spider-Noir has garnered attention. Let's find out when and where Spider-Noir will be released.
What is the story of Spider Noir?
The upcoming live-action Spider-Noir stars Nichols as an older but stronger Peter Parker. Set in 1930s New York, he's a hard-boiled detective on a mission to fight corruption not just with webs, but with guns and fists. Shown in a dark trench coat, dressed in a noir style, the trailer hints at a dark, vengeful side of the hero taking on the major crimes committed by the Goblin. The story also focuses on the past, loss, and moral compromises as he navigates a corrupt, bleak city, offering a hopeful, stylish, and mature reinvention of the Spider-Man legend.
Directed by Oren Uziel, the film stars Nicolas Cage, Andrew Lewis Caldwell, Brendan Gleeson, and several others. Spider-Man Noir follows a private investigator into bleak 1930s New York as the city's only hope. Because the series hasn't been released yet, there's no IMDB rating yet. Prime Video has only released a poster for Spider-Noir.
When and where will the series be released
Nicolas Cage delivered the first theatrical version of Spider-Man Noir in 2018's "Into the Spider-Verse." His second version of Peter Parker was one of the film's biggest highlights, as he had a love of all things depressing, a fondness for old-school catchphrases, and a childlike wonder wrapped in a thick layer of hardcore violence. The show is reminiscent of classic mobster films, so it's unlikely this version of Spidey will be as fun as his animated version.
The series will release on Prime Video in 2026, although a poster has been released but the date has not yet been confirmed. Spider-Noir will be eight episodes long, and will release in 2026 on MGM+ in the United States and on Prime Video in the rest of the world. It's worth noting that the series will not feature the new web-slinger, Peter Parker. Instead, Cage is playing Ben Reilly, perhaps Parker's most famous clone in the comics.
