News Topical, Digital Desk : Sona BLW Precision Forgings issued an official statement on July 25, saying that the company's board, based on legal advice and keeping in mind the fact that Sanjay Kapoor's mother Rani Kapoor is not a shareholder of the company, therefore the AGM (Annual General Meeting) was held on time and the demand for its postponement was rejected. The company also clarified in the exchange filing that after the death of Sanjay Kapoor, no documents have been signed by Rani Kapoor nor has the company received any documents from her.
What is the matter Priya Kapoor was appointed as an additional non-executive director on the board of Sona Comstar. This appointment took place in June 2025 after the death of her husband and company chairman Sanjay Kapoor. Earlier Priya Kapoor was not a part of the company's board, but now she is being linked to the promoter group, which has raised many questions about the internal structure and governance of the company. Priya's entry into the board is also becoming controversial. Sanjay's mother Rani Kapoor has issued a letter raising questions on Priya's appointment. Sona Comstar has said that Priya's appointment has been done under the Company Act and SEBI's LODR guidelines and she will not take any salary on the board. According to the company, everything has been done as per the rules.
