A White House official told Reuters that Trump was purchasing the stone at his own expense. However, no further details were provided.

Trump's schedule at Mar-a-Lago since mid-December has been a mix of politics and personal events, including meetings with foreign leaders and a black-tie New Year's Eve gala attended by the elite.
