News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump, while on vacation, took a step that shocked the entire world. While vacationing in Florida, Trump ordered a surprise military strike in Venezuela, leading to the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro.

The operation came at a time when Trump's public schedule appeared to be completely normal and filled with private activities. According to Reuters, the raid took place in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, early Saturday morning, detaining President Maduro and his wife.

What was the name of the operation ?

This operation was codenamed " Operation Absolute Resolve . " Just before the military action, Trump was vacationing at his private resort, Mar-a-Lago, in Florida. His schedule did not appear to indicate any major military decisions.

Trump made several posts on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Thursday night, but none mentioned Venezuela. He expressed support for Iranian protesters, shared several photos, and declared himself in good health.

Trump was vacationing in Florida

Less than 24 hours before the attack, Trump had visited an Italian stone importer in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, to view marble and onyx for a proposed new ballroom at the White House. A White House official told Reuters that Trump was purchasing the stone at his own expense. However, no further details were provided.

Trump's schedule at Mar-a-Lago since mid-December has been a mix of politics and personal events, including meetings with foreign leaders and a black-tie New Year's Eve gala attended by the elite.

Many people supported Trump.

Trump supporters say he can handle multiple major tasks simultaneously, while critics say his preoccupation with personal activities before such critical military decisions appears irresponsible.

That same night, at a party at Mar-a-Lago, Trump invited artist Vanessa Horrabuena, who created a painting of Jesus Christ, to the stage. The painting was auctioned for $2.75 million, with the proceeds going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

International reaction to the US operation

The new White House ballroom project, estimated to cost around $400 million, has been a longtime interest of Trump's. Standing alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently, Trump said it was a necessity for the country.

Following the Venezuelan crackdown, Maduro and his wife were taken to New York, where they face charges. The legality of this action has been questioned and several countries have expressed concern.

India's Foreign Ministry has also appealed for restraint and a solution through dialogue. According to Reuters, the plan to capture Maduro was put into effect just hours after he played golf on Friday night and met with the US ambassador to China, highlighting the sharp contrast between Trump's vacation and his decisions regarding power.
