News Topical, Digital Desk : On October 7, 2023, exactly two years ago, Hamas launched a horrific attack on Israel, taking numerous civilians hostage. This cowardly attack by Hamas sparked instability not only in Gaza but throughout the Middle East. Iran, Yemen's Houthi rebels, and the United States also jumped into the fray. However, after two years of conflict, speculation is now rife about peace in the Middle East.

Representatives of Israel and Hamas are holding direct talks in Egypt under US President Donald Trump's 20-point peace deal. Hamas has begun releasing Israeli hostages. Israel may also release Palestinian prisoners.

Trump gave information

Giving information about the ongoing talks between Israel and Hamas, Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth, “Talks with Hamas are at a positive turn. The world (especially Arab and Muslim countries) may hear good news this weekend. Hamas is releasing all Israeli hostages. This will end the Gaza war, but most importantly, peace is established in the Middle East.”

According to Trump,

The first phase of talks could be completed by the end of this week. I urge everyone to expedite everything.

America appeals to Israel to stop attacks

Foreign ministers from several countries, including Egypt, have expressed joy at the speculation of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed hope that Hamas will soon release the hostages.

In this context, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has appealed to Israel to stop the attacks on Gaza. Rubio said, "You can't free hostages in the middle of the attacks. The attacks have to stop."
