Traffic resumed across Nepal border amid tight security

Traffic has started across the Nepal border amid tight security in Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur and Goda in Uttar Pradesh. Nepal Army and Armed Police Force personnel have appealed to the people to maintain peace. Hundreds of cargo vehicles standing at the immigration check post on the Indian border are being allowed to go to Nepal.

Gorifanta border of Lakhimpur Kheri has been opened, where all types of commercial cargo vehicles have been allowed to go to Nepal. Local people have heaved a sigh of relief after cargo vehicles were allowed to enter Nepal from the Barhdni border of Siddharthnagar. On the other hand, surveillance has been increased on the border to prevent infiltration of prisoners who have escaped from jail.

Permission to travel on foot was sent

The India-Nepal border in Bihar's East Champaran district is 137 km long, where SSB has been deployed for security. 300 additional jawans have been deployed in all police stations and outposts. SSB, district police and excise police are patrolling together 24 hours a day. Sitamarhi has a border of 90 km. On the fifth day of the agitation in Nepal, consignments of essential materials from Indian territory have started reaching Nepal, due to which the crisis here has started reducing.

Consignments of ration, cooking gas and medicine have reached Nepal, but the movement of other containers is slow. The Nepali army is keeping vigil, while containers are being checked at Raxaul. At the Jogbani border in Araria, people are allowed to walk, but entry of vehicles is restricted, due to which more than 300 trucks are standing outside the border.

Situation normal at Panitanki border in Bengal, security tightened

Amidst the unrest in Nepal, the situation is gradually becoming normal at the India-Nepal border under Darjeeling district in Bengal. The trucks carrying essential goods which were stranded have been sent to Nepal. Small vehicles have started going to Nepal from the Indian border area.

Indians stranded across the border are also returning. More than 700 Indians have returned home from Panitanki border in two days. However, Nepali citizens are not being allowed to come to India. Even after the situation has become normal, no laxity is being taken in security. Siliguri

The situation in Nepal's Darchula, Baitadi and surrounding districts adjoining Uttarakhand is slowly becoming normal. The Darchula district administration relaxed the curfew on Friday, due to which people from Nepal started reaching the markets here through the suspension bridges adjoining Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. However, permission to go from India to Nepal has not been given yet.

Movement on the Banbasa road in Champawat remained closed for the third consecutive day, but vehicles are being allowed in case of emergency. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and police patrolling continues on the borders. Ambulances and vehicles carrying sick people are allowed to enter India. Strict vigil is also being maintained in Melghat and Jhankiya areas of Nepal bordering Khatima in Udham Singh Nagar district.
