In another significant decision, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has mandated the use of "Nandini" brand food and dairy products from the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), a state-owned corporation, at government meetings, events, and all government offices, including the Secretariat. Tea, coffee, milk, and other dairy products will now be available exclusively from "Nandini" at these events.
The local dairy industry will get a boost.
The government says these steps will not only benefit the environment but also strengthen the state's local dairy industry. All departments have been asked to strictly follow these guidelines and ensure their implementation at every meeting and event.

Siddaramaiah said, "Instructions have already been issued to use eco-friendly materials instead of plastic bottles for drinking water in all government offices and official meetings across the state. Necessary steps should be taken to strictly implement this measure." Furthermore, the Chief Minister directed all departments, including the Secretariat, to "mandatorily use Nandini products of the state-owned Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) during meetings and official functions."
