News Topical, Digital Desk : Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) informed after the stock market closed on Monday that the company has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1 bidder) for Southern Railway in the traction substation project worth Rs 145.34 crore. This project is being undertaken with the aim of strengthening the railway infrastructure and improving the power supply system. In the information given to the exchange, the company said that the company has been selected as the lowest bidder (L1) for a major project of Southern Railway. This project is to achieve the mission loading target of 3000MT and its total value is Rs 145.35 crore.

The contract includes the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of Scott-connected traction substations in the Jolarpettai junction-Salem junction (JTJ-SA) section. It also includes power quality compensating equipment, switching posts (SP/SSP), SCADA integration, and automatic fault locators (AFLs). The project is targeted to be completed in 540 days.

On September 10, RVNL also emerged as the L1 bidder for a project issued by West Central Railway. That contract was valued at ₹169.49 crore and included the construction of 220/132kV/2 x 25 kV Scott-connected traction substations, switching posts, AT, and SCADA integration. 

Share Performance The company's shares closed at ₹359.40 on Monday, down 1.11%. Over the past year, the company's stock has declined 32.70%.
