
News Topical,Digital Desk : Drug company Aurobindo Pharma Limited said that a fire broke out in the coal crusher area of the company's Kakinada SEZ Penicillin-G manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh. Some ancillary equipment was damaged due to the incident. There are no reports of any casualties. The company said that operations at the plant will be temporarily halted for an estimated 20 to 25 days for equipment replacement. The company said that the fire broke out around 10 pm Indian time near the coal crusher area of the factory.
Damage to ancillary equipment The company said that due to the incident some ancillary equipment was damaged, but there was no impact on the core manufacturing infrastructure. The company clarified that the incident is not expected to have any significant impact on its operations or financial position. A thorough assessment of the damage is being done. As a precautionary measure, operations at the plant will be temporarily halted for an estimated 20-25 days to replace equipment.
Stock performance On Monday, the company's stock closed at Rs 1,250, up 2.45 per cent. In the last one year, the company's stock has seen a rise of 8.53 per cent.
