Sawan 2025: Kailash of the South is the second Jyotirlinga Mallikarjuna, rebirth does not occur by summit darshan

News Topical, Digital Desk : The second Jyotirlinga among the twelve Jyotirlingas located in the country is Mallikarjuna, which is located in Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh. This Jyotirlinga is located on a hill on the banks of the Krishna River. It is also called the Kailash of the South. The first Jyotirlinga Shri Somnath  is located in Saurashtra, Gujarat. 

Vedas and sages also support the fact that there is no pilgrimage like Srisailam. Therefore, the worshipper of Mallikarjuna Swamy attains salvation. Nothing is unattainable for the worshipper of Mallikarjuna Swamy. Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga is the combined form of Shiva and Parvati, in which Mallika Devi is Parvati and Arjun is Mahadev.

It is written in Shreesail Khandam that 'Sreesail Shikham Drisht Punarjanma Na Vidhyate.' This means that the one who has darshan of Srishail peak is not reborn. That means he gets freedom from the cycle of life and death.

This place will remain even after the apocalypse 

According to the information given in the official website of the temple, Srisailadevasthanam, the glory of the temple has been described in ancient scripts, Ramayana, Puranas etc. According to Shivrahasyam, श्रीशेलेश्वरलिंगतुल्ममलं लिंगं न भूमंदले ब्रह्मांडप्रलयपि तस्यविलाया न्षतति वेदोक्तयः 

This means that there is no other linga in this world like Srishaileshwar Linga. The only abode of Lord Shiva that remains in the universe even after Pralaya is Srishail Kshetra.

Many sages and ascetics like Kumar, Agastya, Vashishtha, Lopamudra, Vyas Maharshi, Garg Maharshi, Durvasoma Maharshi, Manmadhudu, Shankarcharyulu have performed sadhana here. Apart from Lord Shri Ram and Pandavas, demons like Ravana and Hiranyakashyap also came here to worship Bholenath. 

Bholenath gets the same pleasure here as Kailash 

Niyatavaas in Srishail Khandam Asthi: Kailash Iti Sarvadha Bhuvi Shri Parvatatho Naam Saha Sarvasurottamai. Atra me Hridayam Devi Yadha Prithimapagatham na Thadha Ramthe Tatra Kailase Kaamadayani.

It means- O Parvati, everyone knows that I live only in Kailash. But, the only place on earth, which gives me happiness is the hill of Srisailam. Devi! My heart fills with joy in Srisailam in the same way as it sways with joy on Mount Kailash.
