News Topical, Digital Desk : A joint police team from Khalilabad Bakhira police station in Sant Kabir Nagar and the Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested the leader of an interstate vehicle theft gang and two members near the Balushasan Bridge. The arrests uncovered three recent vehicle thefts in the district. Sandeep Kumar Meena, while providing information about the incident at the Reserve Police Lines, stated that three teams, including the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Surveillance Group (SOG), had been formed to uncover the case.

This gang of thieves, caught by the police, used to steal vehicles parked on the roadside by reconnaissance and then sell the stolen vehicles. The Superintendent of Police awarded the police team that arrested the thieves a reward of 25,000 rupees.

Police recovered a car and 20 kg 800 grams of marijuana.

SP Sandeep Kumar Meena said that based on information, a joint team consisting of Kotwal Pankaj Kumar Pandey, SO Bakhira Satish Singh, and SOG in-charge Ajay Singh arrested the leader of an interstate vehicle theft gang and two members. The arrested accused recovered ₹5 lakh in cash, a car, and 20 kg 800 grams of illegal marijuana.

During interrogation, accused Ramesh Shah revealed that the arrested accused were identified as Ramesh Shah, a resident of Mohammadpur Nirmal Tola, Madhopur police station, Gopalganj district, Bihar, and Mohammad Siraj, a resident of Bangra Wajid, Mariyari police station, Muzaffarpur district, Bihar. During interrogation, accused Ramesh Shah revealed that they have an organized gang. He is the gang leader. They steal four-wheelers and earn their living by sharing the proceeds among themselves.

Both the arrested accused confessed to the crime

The main accused Ramesh Shah told that he was taking the marijuana in the Bagnar car to sell it for more money. He along with his accomplices Mohammad Siraj resident of Bangra Wajid police station Mariari district Muzaffarpur Bihar and Parameshwar Soni resident of Bijulpur police station Turkwalia district Motihari Champaran Bihar commit theft. From here they steal vehicles and take them to Bihar and sell them to scrap dealers. When both the accused were asked about carrying so much money, they told that they do the work of stealing vehicles and buying and selling old vehicles. They also do recce on the pretext of buying a vehicle, if they find a good vehicle somewhere then instead of stealing it, they buy the vehicle and take it to Bihar and sell it.
