SAD councilor shot dead in Amritsar, attackers had first fired at his house:

News Topical, Digital Desk : SAD Councillor Shot Dead: Shiromani Akali Dal councillor Harjinder Singh was shot dead in Amritsar on Sunday (May 25). The attackers who came on a bike carried out the crime. A few days ago, firing was also done at the councillor's house. Now, after the murder, there is an atmosphere of terror in the area. The police has reached the spot and started investigation.

According to the information, councillor Harjinder Singh from Jandiala Guru was passing near Gurdwara Sahib near Chheharta when the bike-borne assailants came and riddled Harjinder Singh with bullets. However, the reason for the murder has not been revealed yet.

Firing was also done at home.
According to the police, the councillor from Jandiala came to a function in Chhaherta, Amritsar. As soon as he came out, masked miscreants opened fire on Harjinder Singh and Harjinder Singh died. He told that a few days ago firing was done at Harjinder's house. The police officer told that earlier the councillor had received death threats. The family members of the deceased councillor have given the names of some people who suspect him.

ADCP Harpal Singh Randhawa said, "Three to four unidentified persons tried to stop the councillor on a bike and then fired three to four bullets at him." The officer said that Harjinder Singh was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

Akali Dal raised questions on the police
. Regarding this incident, senior Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia claimed that the councilor was getting threatening calls about which he had informed the police, but the police did nothing. He also targeted the AAP government of Punjab for the law and order in the state.
