News Topical, Digital Desk : In Jammu and Kashmir, rhetoric continues regarding Martyrs' Day on July 13. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary has targeted Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Talking to reporters after a ceremony in Srinagar, Chaudhary said that the incident of misbehavior with the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and his cabinet at the martyrs' cemetery is not only an insult to the Constitution of India, freedom fighters and martyrs, but also an insult to the mandate of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Surinder Chaudhary said, “This is the land of Gandhi and Baba Saheb and independence was not achieved easily and many people sacrificed their lives. Whatever happened yesterday was not only an insult to the elected Chief Minister but also to the very freedom struggle and mandate due to which he was elected.”

LG will apologize- Manoj Sinha

Targeting LG Manoj Sinha for admitting security lapse in Pahalgam attack, Surinder Choudhary said that the day is not far when LG will apologize for the incident related to Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah.

In Jammu and Kashmir, 13 July is celebrated as 'Shaheed Diwas'. In the year 1931, 22 people were killed in firing by the Dogra Army outside Srinagar Central Jail. The administration removed this day from the list of holidays in the year 2020.

On Monday, CM Omar Abdullah had read the Fateha by jumping over the gate of Naqshband Sahib despite being stopped by the administration. Earlier on July 13, the administration had stopped the CM and opposition leaders from visiting the tomb.

What did the Deputy CM say on full statehood?
Targeting the central government on the issue of restoration of statehood, the Deputy Chief Minister said that no one has the right to threaten a democratically elected representative in the guise of statehood.

He said, "If anyone thinks that in the name of statehood, one can threaten and humiliate the Chief Minister, the Cabinet and the public, then they are wrong and the people of Jammu and Kashmir will never accept this."

Surinder Choudhary claimed that the attack on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been condemned by political parties and leaders across the country as they also believe that it was an attack on democracy.
