A 40-year-old man and his son were killed and three others were injured when their house collapsed due to heavy rains in Rajasthan's Karauli district on Sunday morning.

Officials said the incident took place in the city's Dolikhar locality when the family was sleeping in their house. They said two people died after being buried under the debris when the house collapsed due to heavy rains.

2 dead, 3 in critical condition due to house collapse

Dr. Ramkesh Meena, Chief Medical Officer of Karauli District Hospital, told reporters that two people died in the incident, while two others were injured and are being treated at the hospital. According to Meena, the deceased have been identified as Zakir Khan (40) and his son Rashid Khan (12). He said that the bodies will be handed over to the relatives after post-mortem.

Let us tell you that many people are feared dead in the debris at the spot. The officer said that initially two bodies were sent to the hospital, including Jiah Khan and her father Zakir Khan. Apart from this, three people were also slightly injured. Two of them were given first aid and the third person was sent after OPD.

Police said at least five people were trapped under the debris after the house collapsed. After the rescue operation, two people were found dead and three others were injured. Police said that on receiving the information, police officers reached the spot and the injured were admitted to Karauli Hospital. The incident took place in Nadi Darwaza area at around 6:30 am.

Houses are getting dilapidated due to continuous rain

Officials also said that the house was dilapidated due to incessant rains. Heavy rains lashed many parts of Rajasthan in the last three days, leading to waterlogging in many areas including Gangapur City. The weather department has forecast that heavy to very heavy rains are likely at some places in Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur and Bharatpur divisions on Sunday. Heavy rain activity is expected to continue in these areas for the next five to seven days.
