News Topical, Digital Desk : A sensational case has emerged from Kota, Rajasthan. The body of a 12th-grade student has been found in a hotel room. The student had been missing from home for the past two days. Police were searching for her. Meanwhile, the news of her body being found in the hotel caused a stir.

Rajasthan Police announced the incident on Sunday. The student has been identified as 18-year-old Preeti Ahedi. Preeti was a resident of Kelwara in Baran district. Her family filed a missing person report at the police station two days ago.

The search was completed after 24 hours.

According to the police, Preeti went to school on Friday morning but did not return home that afternoon. Her family became concerned when she did not return and filed a police complaint. Police began searching for her. On Saturday evening, Preeti's body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in a hotel in Kota, 120 kilometers from her home.

During police questioning, hotel staff revealed that Preeti had checked in at the hotel around 5 pm on Friday evening. She also submitted her Aadhaar card. Afterward, no one came to meet her, nor did Preeti leave her room.

According to Vinod Kumar, circle in-charge of Nayapura police station,

On Saturday evening, when Preeti's room doorbell was rung for cleaning, she did not answer. The manager then informed the police. When the hotel room door was broken open, Preeti's body was found hanging from the fan. She had hanged herself with her scarf.

According to SHO Man Singh, the police have also examined the hotel's CCTV footage. Preeti is seen alone in her home clothes. She got off an autorickshaw near the school and then boarded a bus for Kota. The family initially refused a post-mortem. However, they agreed to the post-mortem on the condition that the police not pursue a case of suicide.
