Observing this fast bestows the blessings of Lord Shiva. According to religious belief, observing the Pradosh Vrat ritually completes unfinished tasks and relieves one of all fears. Pradosh Vrat December 2025 List

According to the Vedic calendar, the first Pradosh fast of December will be observed on December 2. The second Pradosh fast will be observed on December 17.

Pradosh Vrat 2025 Date and Shubh Muhurat

According to the Vedic calendar, the Trayodashi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase) of the Margashirsha month begins on December 2nd at 3:57 PM. This Tithi will end on December 3rd at 12:25 PM. Consequently, the Pradosh Vrat will be observed on December 2nd. The Pradosh Kaal (time of the fast) on this day is from 5:33 PM to 8:15 PM.

Pradosh Vrat 2025 Date and Shubh Muhurat

According to the Vedic calendar, the Trayodashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Paush begins at 11:57 pm on December 16th and ends at 2:32 am on December 18th. Therefore, the Pradosh fast will be observed on December 17th. The Pradosh Kaal (period of Pradosh Kaal) on this day is from 5:38 pm to 8:18 pm.

Pradosh Vrat Puja Vidhi

  • On this day, wake up early in the morning, take a bath and offer arghya to the Sun God.
  • After this, worship Mahadev and take a vow to fast.
  • In the evening, place the idol of Lord Shiva on the platform.
  • Offer things like Belpatra, Ganga water and Datura etc. to Lord Shiva.
  • After this, light a lamp of desi ghee and perform aarti of Mahadev.
  • Recite the fast story.
  • Chant Shiva mantras and recite Shiva Chalisa.
  • Offer fruits, sweets and other things.
  • Finally distribute Prasad among the people.
