NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar on Monday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech. He said that PM Modi was emphasizing on one nation, one election on that day. But, the very next day, different election dates were announced for three states.

The system doesn't decide

According to PM Modi, the system does not take decisions. The Election Commission announced the election schedule for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir last week. When asked if the state government's Ladki Behan scheme can lead to elections in Maharashtra in December, Pawar said that this is a question that should be asked of the Election Commission. He was asked that the Eknath Shinde government is providing funds for schemes like Ladki Behan, while there is no fund for schemes that provide scholarships to students.

Pawar said that there is no provision of funds for various pending schemes and scholarships, but in the meantime new schemes are being started which create financial burden. I hope the Chief Minister and his colleagues will present their side on this.
