GST increased by 146 percent in five years

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said data presented by the Department of Higher Education in the Rajya Sabha shows that GST collection from coaching institutes has increased from Rs 2,241 crore to Rs 5,517 crore in the last five years. This shows an astonishing 146 percent increase in GST collection. He said better enforcement may have played some role in this, but it is also likely due to the growing market size.

The exodus of rich Indians from the country is an irony

Jairam Congress on Saturday said the exodus of high-skilled and high-net-worth Indians is an 'economic irony', citing government data that 2.16 lakh Indians will renounce their citizenship by 2023. This will reduce the country's tax revenue in the next few years. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said business personalities are increasingly renouncing Indian citizenship and moving to Singapore, UAE and UK and other places.
