Pratap Singh Khachariyawas: Rajasthan is experiencing extreme heat these days. Fire is pouring from the sky. Political temperature is also rising due to the scorching heat. After the Rajasthan High Court intervened, expressing displeasure over the government arrangements in the heat, the Congress party has become aggressive on the government, while the BJP, which has come on the back foot, has accused the opposition of doing unnecessary politics. Keeping the lives of people safe in the heat has become a big challenge for the government amidst political allegations and counter-allegations.
It is noteworthy that on Friday, the Jaipur Bench of the Rajasthan High Court filed a public interest litigation on suo motu in view of the extreme heat in the state and considered the government arrangements inadequate and raised questions on the system. The court expressed its displeasure and made a harsh comment and said that it cannot leave the people to fend for themselves in this heat. The High Court issued orders to the Rajasthan government to form a coordination committee and make strong arrangements for relief and rescue, and also summoned answers from all the officers.
Congress targeted Bhajanlal Sharma government
After the Rajasthan High Court's intervention on the government's arrangements for the heat, the Congress party has attacked the Bhajan Lal Sharma government of the state. Senior Rajasthan Congress leader and former cabinet minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas has said that the government did not take any steps to save people from the scorching heat, due to which the High Court had to intervene. This is a very shameful situation for the government. It should wake up from its slumber now and immediately call an all-party meeting.
Pratap Singh Khachariyawas has said that if the government finds itself unable to take any decision and implement it alone, then it should seek help from the Congress party. Every worker of the Congress party will stand with the government and provide full support in helping the people and saving their lives.
On the other hand, BJP has called the High Court's order normal. The party says that the court has issued general guidelines so that relief and rescue work can be done in a better way. Rajasthan BJP's office in-charge and senior leader Mukesh Pareek has accused the Congress of doing unnecessary politics on this issue. He says that the Rajasthan government is very sensitive on all issues related to the public. Better steps are being taken as compared to Congress governments. Many people died due to heat during the Congress rule, but the BJP government is ready to provide every possible help to the people. The court's guidelines will also be followed.
