News Topical, Digital Desk : A shocking incident has emerged from Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. A police constable was murdered inside a mosque. The incident has caused widespread uproar in the area.

Local police said unidentified gunmen carried out the massacre on Sunday, news agency PTI reported.

Constable shot dead during namaz

According to preliminary information, Head Constable Shah Nawaz was shot dead in Mohammad Akbar village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Gul Imam police station in Tank district bordering Afghanistan.

Police say the constable who was killed was on leave and was targeted by the attackers during his prayers when he returned. Following the murder, police sent the body to the district headquarters hospital. Further investigation is underway.

Terrorists targeting police officers

PTI reports that police officers and personnel in the area are targets of terrorist organizations. Immediately after the incident, heavy police and security forces arrived at the scene. The area was cordoned off, and a search and investigation operation was launched to trace the perpetrators.

Police officials condemned the attack

Pakistani police officials have condemned the incident, calling it a cowardly attempt to undermine peace and target people serving in the line of duty.
