News Topical, Digital Desk : Reciting the Sunderkand (Sunderkand Path Benefits) daily is considered especially beneficial. It increases devotion to Lord Rama and liberates the devotee from evils like lust, anger, and greed. On Saturdays, be sure to recite these special couplets and verses from the Sunderkand, along with their meanings.
1. He started describing the virtues of Ramachandra. Sita's sorrow vanished
on hearing this. His ears and mind started listening. He narrated the entire story from the beginning.
Meaning: When Hanuman described the divine qualities and glory of Lord Shri Ram to Mother Sita, all of Sita's sorrows vanished. She listened to Hanuman's narration of the Rama story with complete concentration. This verse teaches us that when despair overtakes us in life, remembering the qualities of God and engaging in spiritual company can relieve mental stress and grief.
2. Hanuman touched it and bowed down again .
Without doing Ram's work, where can I find rest ?
Meaning: When Mount Mainak asks Hanuman to rest while crossing the ocean, he simply touches it with his hand and respectfully salutes it, clearly stating, "There is no place for rest in my life until the work of Lord Shri Ram is completed." This couplet teaches us the lesson of duty and discipline. If we want to achieve success in life, we must abandon laziness and rest before achieving our goal.
3. Lust, anger, pride, greed, all are the paths to hell.
All are left behind, worship Raghuveera, worship the saints.
Meaning: This couplet states that lust, anger, ego, and greed—these four vices—are the gateways to hell. A wise person is one who renounces these vices and seeks refuge in Lord Rama, for saints and wise men also follow this path.
4. Enter the city and do all the work. Kosalpur king kept
poison and nectar in his heart. The enemy became friends. Cowpad Sindhu, fire and cold.
Meaning: This quatrain describes the incident when Lanka's gatekeeper, Lankini, tells Hanuman, "Enter the city with the King of Ayodhya, Shri Ram, in your heart, and accomplish all your tasks." For a devotee who works with Ram in his heart, even poison becomes nectar, and enemies become friends.
The ocean shrinks to the size of a cow's hoof, and even a blazing fire feels cool. This quatrain inspires self-confidence, trust in God, and courage to act fearlessly in difficult times.
