News Topical, Digital Desk : The International Criminal Court has sentenced former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to death in a case of alleged crimes against humanity. Following the tribunal's decision, Sheikh Hasina's son, Sajeeb Wazed, also leveled serious allegations against Mohammad Yunus, saying he would not be able to kill his mother.
Bangladesh's ousted Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, is currently in exile in India. On Monday, the Bangladesh International Crimes Tribunal sentenced Hasina to death. Following this, her son, Sajeeb Wazed, said that Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus would not be able to murder his mother.
Yunus cannot touch my mother
Sheikh Hasina's son Wazed said, "Yunus cannot touch my mother and he cannot do anything to her." Speaking to news agency IANS, he said that the situation in Bangladesh is "illegal and unconstitutional" and the case will not stand once the rule of law is established.
Wajed said that Muhammad Yunus would not be able to kill his mother because he would not be able to catch her. But he would definitely implement the decision. Wajed further said that once the rule of law is established, this entire process will be nullified.
I am thankful to the Indian government
Sheikh Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed thanked PM Narendra Modi and said, "I will always be grateful to Prime Minister Modi. He has ensured my mother's safety. He has saved my mother's life. As the head of a country, he is keeping her under tight security and for this I will always be grateful to the Government of India and the people of India."
This is a joke...
Condemning the decision against Hasina, Wazed listed the reasons why it was "completely illegal." He said it was a joke. First, there's an unelected, unconstitutional, and illegal government. Then, to expedite the disposal of cases in tribunals, they had to amend laws, which you can only do in Parliament. Currently, there's no Parliament. So the process itself was completely illegal.
Wazed further said that Yunus dismissed 17 judges from this tribunal and appointed a new judge with no experience. He publicly made a derogatory remark about my mother. So he is clearly biased.
Not allowed to appoint a lawyer
Wazed alleged bias, saying that authorities in Bangladesh did not allow Hasina to hire a lawyer and instead chose her own to defend her. In Bangladesh's history, such trials would have taken years, but they completed it in 140 days. Therefore, this is a complete travesty of justice.
