News Topical, Digital Desk : A Pakistani-origin student has been arrested in the US state of Delaware. The arrested immigrant, Luqman Khan, is a 25-year-old student at the University of Delaware. He was arrested while planning a mass shooting in the US.
A large quantity of guns, ammunition, and body armor were recovered from the arrested Luqman Khan. A notebook was also recovered from him, which outlined a plan to kill everyone and achieve martyrdom.
The handwritten notebook detailed how to acquire additional weapons and firearms, how to use them in a mass attack, and how to avoid police and FBI scrutiny after the attack. The letter also included the layout of the University of Delaware police station, including entrances and exits, and the name of a police officer. Repeatedly, sentences like "Kill everyone," "Martyrdom is the greatest thing," were written.
According to the New York Post, police said the notebook contained plans for a pre-planned attack and apparently detailed combat techniques. The full motive behind the alleged attack is still unclear. However, after his arrest, Luqman Khan told police that becoming a martyr is one of the greatest things you can do.
Was planning a mass shooting
Documents and weapons recovered from him indicate that a major mass shooting at the University of Delaware was planned, but was prevented in time. Luqman Khan was born in Pakistan but has lived in the United States since his youth and is an American citizen.
Illegal weapons recovered during raid
The arrest came after the FBI raided his Wilmington home and recovered an AR-style rifle equipped with a red-dot scope, as well as a second Glock pistol – this pistol equipped with an illegal device that converted it into a fully automatic machine gun capable of firing 1,200 rounds per minute.
Eleven additional extended magazines, lethal hollow points, and a bulletproof vest were also recovered. All the weapons found on Khan were illegal, and none were registered. He is currently in jail, and the FBI is investigating the case.
