The family of a deceased teenage girl took to the streets with her body demanding justice. A teenage girl from Jehanabad, who lived at the Shambhu Girls Hostel in Munna Chowk, Kankarbagh, Patna, died on Sunday (January 11th). The family alleged rape and murder. On Sunday, the police, quoting a doctor from Medanta Hospital, stated that the girl died due to taking sleeping pills.
The teenager was found unconscious in her hostel on January 6.
A teenage girl, who had returned home to Patna after celebrating New Year's Day, was found unconscious in her hostel room on January 6th. She was admitted to a private hospital. After her condition worsened, she was taken to Patna's prestigious Prabhat Memorial Hospital, where her condition worsened. On Sunday (January 11th), her family took her to Medanta, where she died.
Following the girl's death, police reported on Sunday that suicide tips and sleeping pill side effects were searched on her mobile phone. Police also reported finding several sleeping pills in her room. The girl also had a wound on her shoulder.
The post-mortem revealed rape.
After the girl's death, she was taken from Medanta to Patna's PMCH for a post-mortem. After the post-mortem, the doctor confirmed that the girl had been raped. Following this, the girl's family and relatives took to the streets, shouting slogans against the Nitish Kumar government and its police.
The family has accused the administration and Prabhat Memorial Hospital of trying to cover up the entire matter. They have questioned the police statements made to the media and the attitude of the Prabhat Memorial Hospital doctor. They suspect that Shambhu Hostel is a site of numerous wrongdoings, and that this is why it claimed the life of their daughter.
