News Topical, Digital Desk : The winter session of Parliament is set to begin next month. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has announced this. He said that the winter session of Parliament will begin on December 1st and will continue until December 19th.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said President Draupadi Murmu has approved the proposal for a parliamentary session from December 1-19. He announced this on XX, saying, “We hope this session will prove to be constructive and productive, strengthening our democracy and fulfilling the aspirations of the people.”

There was uproar in the monsoon session

Before the upcoming winter session, Parliament held its Monsoon Session, which ran from July 21st to August 21st. During this period, Parliament held a total of 21 sittings. However, due to opposition uproar, no significant decisions were taken in both houses—the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha.

During the monsoon session, Operation Sindoor was discussed for two days, attended by over 130 MPs. Fourteen bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha, of which 12 were passed. In addition, 15 bills were approved in the Rajya Sabha. This list included the Income Tax Bill 2025, which was subsequently withdrawn by the government.
