News Topical, Digital Desk : Israeli Economy Minister Nir Barkat has taken a very tough stance against Iran and Pakistan. He warned that if Iran takes any provocative action in the future, Israel will respond with a force seven times greater.
In fact, in an interview with NDTV in Davos, Israeli Minister Nir Barkat accused Iran of destabilizing the Middle East by supporting armed groups for decades. He said, “Iran has been the leader of the axis of evil. They aimed to destroy Israel, built thousands of ballistic missiles, strengthened Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, and they pose a threat to Israel.”
Barakat warned Iran that if it provoked again, it would receive a befitting reply. Meanwhile, regarding the future of Gaza and the proposed peacekeeping force there, Barakat categorically rejected the participation of countries like Pakistan, Qatar, and Turkey. Referring to Pakistan by name, Barakat said, "Any country that supports terrorism is not welcome in Gaza."
Iran's weakness exposed
Barkat said that Israeli military operations have exposed Iran's weaknesses to the world, which it has been hiding behind its strength. "We struck Iran hard and severely crippled it. Iran was not as powerful as it thought," Barkat said.
It is in Iran's interest...
Barkat said, "I believe this has affected the entire region, and now they will have to change their strategy." However, Barkat also stressed that Israel's primary objective is defense, not regime change. He said, "Israel's interest is to defend Israel. If they make any threats, we will give them a befitting reply. If they want to overthrow their government, it is in Iran's interest."
Barkat said if Iran changes its stance and wants to make peace with Israel, we would be happy to cooperate with them. He also supported US President Trump's peace proposal, saying it is a better option than the United Nations, which is biased.
We can't trust them
Barakat took a tough stance on international peacekeeping proposals, saying, "We will not accept countries like Qatar, Turkey, and Pakistan. Because they have been strongly supporting the jihadist organization in Gaza, and we cannot trust them to send their troops there."
