News Topical, Digital Desk : Jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan told his party members on Wednesday that if anything happens to him here, Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir will be responsible for it. Imran has been in jail since August 2023.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is preparing to launch a massive campaign across the country from August 5 to mount pressure on the Shehbaz Sharif government and the military establishment to release Khan.

Imran Khan said in a post on X that in recent days, the harsh treatment meted out to me in jail has increased even more. The same applies to my wife Bushra Bibi. Even the TV in her cell has been switched off. All the basic rights of both of us, whether human or legally granted to prisoners, have been suspended. There should be accountability for this.

He claimed that he was fully aware that a colonel and the jail superintendent were acting on the orders of Munir. So I give clear instructions to my party that if anything happens to me in jail, Asim Munir should be held accountable.
