News Topical, Digital Desk : The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has achieved a major success in its ongoing crackdown against drug mafias in Rajasthan. The ANTF team has arrested Jitendra Meghwal, the notorious "smack king" of the Marwar region and a smuggler with a reward of ₹25,000. The accused's goal was to generate up to ₹50 lakh in illegal money by supplying approximately 20 kg of smack per month.
ATS Inspector General of Police Vikas Kumar stated that under the guidance of Additional Director General of Police M.N. Dinesh, the ANTF team has been conducting a series of successful operations against drug lords. In this sequence, the team conducted Operation "Jismanna" and arrested Jitendra, son of Bagta Ram (caste Meghwal), a resident of Kharad in the Dhorimanna police station area of Barmer district. A reward of ₹25,000 had been announced by the Barmer Superintendent of Police for the accused, Jitendra Meghwal.
The guru remained jaggery, the disciple became the 'smack king'
IG Vikas Kumar described the accused's background, saying his story was like a movie script. After studying until the eighth grade, he dropped out with dreams of becoming rich. His father sent him to Bengaluru to work at a mobile phone shop, but he returned and began wandering around.
It was here that he met Prakash, a notorious smuggler. Jitendra first became Prakash's driver and then became his partner, starting a large-scale smack supply business.
In just three short years, Jitendra had surpassed his mentor Prakash to become the "smack kingpin" of the entire area. He soon owned several mansions and farms, while his mentor Prakash landed in jail.
The addiction of black money and 'Teesri Kasam'
Inspector General Vikas Kumar said that in just three years of criminal activity, Jitendra was charged with eight cases in various districts and imprisoned three times. Each time he was released, he would swear to his father and wife that he would quit the business, but his promises were shattered by the lucrative pursuit of drugs.
He himself became a victim in 'Kajal's room'
Jitendra, who had lured others into the trap of smack, couldn't escape its effects himself and became deeply addicted. His condition deteriorated to the point where he was bedridden. His family admitted him to a drug de-addiction center, where, during his lengthy treatment, all the homes, farms, and barns he had acquired with ill-gotten wealth were sold, leaving him back in poverty.
Upon recovering, he once again began poisoning society, seeking to become rich. But this time, the police were alert. As his business expanded, several more cases were filed against him, leading to a 25,000 bounty on him, and he continued to flee like a nomad until he was finally apprehended by an ANTF team.
