News Topical, Digital Desk : On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, devotees celebrate this divine occasion with full heart and devotion, in which the childhood pastimes of the Lord and the sacred story of his birth are remembered.

An important tradition of the holy day of Janmashtami (Janmashtami 2025) is the birth of Laddu Gopal from cucumber, which symbolizes the event of the birth of God from the womb. Just as a child is born from the mother's womb and is brought into the world by piercing the umbilical cord, in the same way, Laddu Gopal is born by cutting the cucumber on the night of Janmashtami.

How is this process done (Janmashtami 2025 Puja Vidhi)

Early in the morning on the day of Janmashtami, a fresh cucumber with a stalk is taken and Lord Laddu Gopal is placed in it. As soon as the time is 12 midnight, that cucumber is carefully cut with the help of a coin and Laddu Gopal is taken out from it. This process is known as "Naal Chhedan" in many states.

After this, Aarti of Lord Krishna is performed and cucumbers are distributed among the devotees as prasad. Cucumbers are distributed among the devotees after some time after offering them to Shri Krishna. This tradition commemorates the birth of Lord Krishna and is a symbol of reverence and devotion towards him.
