News Topical, Digital Desk : The National Stock Exchange (NSE) faces approximately 170 million cyberattacks every day. To combat these, the exchange has a special team of cyber warriors working around the clock to ensure market operations are not affected. According to PTI, during the recent "Operation Sindoor," a record 400 million attacks were recorded in a single day, but no damage was caused.

NSE recently conducted a DDoS simulation exercise called "Operation Sindoor," during which a record 400 million cyberattacks were recorded in a single day. Despite this massive cyberattack, NSE's technical systems and expert team's preparedness prevented any damage.

How attacks are prevented : A senior NSE official explained, "Millions of cyberattacks occur on NSE every day, but our technical team and systems block them around the clock with the help of specialized software." According to the official, between 150 and 170 million attacks occur daily, making this task extremely challenging. According to the official, NSE's two cyber defense centers are constantly in battle mode and are equipped with advanced software capable of preventing large-scale cyberattacks. "The combination of a technically robust cybersecurity architecture, trained personnel, and modern machinery ensures the security of NSE's operations," the official said. Strengthened Internal Cybersecurity NSE has strengthened its internal cybersecurity and conducts a Cybersecurity Fundamentals Training Program through the NSE Academy. Exchange member brokers are required to undergo regular cybersecurity and cyber resilience audits, reports of which are submitted to NSE. The security system includes stringent protocols against email, external data, pen drives, and DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks. The system automatically issues pop-ups and alerts whenever any suspicious activity is detected.
