News Topical, Digital Desk : UP News: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big step to further strengthen the security of citizens and disaster management in all the districts of the state. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, now civil defense will be arranged in all 75 districts of the state. At present, this system is working in only 15 districts, but now the process of implementing it has been started in the remaining 60 districts as well.
The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to form Civil Defence units in all the districts as soon as possible and recruit trained volunteers along with the necessary resources. For this, the district administration has been given the responsibility to implement this scheme on the ground through training centres, equipment and public awareness campaigns.
What is Civil Defence?
Civil Defence is a kind of civil security system which provides security, relief and rescue operations to the public during a disaster. This system is not only useful in natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, storms etc. but also plays a big role in saving lives in situations like war or terrorist attacks.
Confidence was gained from the mock drill conducted on 7 May
Recently, on May 7, a mock drill was organized across the country regarding civil security, in which the volunteers of Civil Defence performed brilliantly. They promptly carried out tasks like relief work, first aid and taking the public to safe places. Inspired by this, the UP government has decided to implement this system in every district.
New employment and training opportunities
This initiative of Civil Defence will provide training and employment opportunities to thousands of youth of the state. Volunteers will be trained in important tasks like disaster management, first aid, firefighting and relief distribution. Trained youth will get a chance to join government and non-government disaster relief operations in the future.
A strong foundation for security and service
The government believes that by increasing the role of the general public in the safety of citizens, not only can a better response be given in an emergency situation, but the society can also be made self-reliant and aware. This system of civil defense will give new heights to the disaster management capacity of the state in the future. While this step will speed up relief work during disasters, on the other hand, the youth will get an opportunity to join service and respect. This initiative of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is being considered important from the point of view of both security and employment.
