In this study, about 4.75 lakh (475,000) people were followed for about 8 years. During this period, it was found that people who eat red or processed meat more than three times a week may suffer from heart disease, diabetes, digestion related problems, pneumonia. Along with this, their lifespan may also be reduced.

Decreases the risk of anemia

However, it was also observed that eating red meat and chicken meat can reduce the risk of anemia. This study also stated that people's weight also plays an important role in increasing the risk of these diseases.
