News Topical, Digital Desk : On Monday, families of affected farmers staged a sit-in protest on the road leading to the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh . They said, "We have complained repeatedly to the district administration and the Jewar MLA that local people are not getting jobs, while the company is employing outsiders."
The farmers said that the government had announced a priority for local youth, but despite this, they are still unable to find employment. As a result, local youth feel betrayed. Furthermore, local officials are also not serious about their problems.
Companies accused of arbitrariness
The complaint alleges irregularities and favoritism in the selection process by recruitment agencies and private companies, while jobs are being given to outsiders. The farmers say they did not opt for the 5 lakh rupees compensation because they were assured that their children would receive permanent employment at Jewar Airport.
The complaint also informed the district administration that on August 9, 2025, the airport launched a skills development center at the ITI College in Jewar. A batch of 30 youth was selected, but none of the children from affected farmer families were included. Furthermore, on September 11, 2025, children from affected families were called to the airport, but no clear discussion was held with them. This has fueled anger among the youth, and today, they have staged a sit-in protest on the airport road.
The administration assured
Upon receiving information about the protest, the Jewar police and Jewar Deputy District Magistrate Durgesh Pratap Singh spoke with the youth and promised them that their problem would be resolved by next Friday. However, the protesters refused to accept this.
