The accused fled after the murders. The wife had an affair with the deceased, which the accused opposed. The accused has seven children, the eldest of whom is married. The murders took place in his home.
Rashid lives with his wife, Shabnam, and seven children in the Budh Bazaar Colony, Rampark, under the Tronica City police station in Ghaziabad. Rashid works as a bamboo pole carver, and his friend, Faheem, also works with him. Ghaziabad DCP (Rural), Surendranath Tiwari, stated that at 12:40 a.m., Dial 112 received a call reporting a fight in the Budh Bazaar neighborhood, with two people injured.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the bodies of Shabnam, 36, and Faheem, 32. The police took both bodies into custody, filed a Panchnama, and sent them for post-mortem examination. Police investigations revealed that Faheem and Rashid were friends. Faheem and Shabnam were in a relationship that Rashid opposed. This is what led to the incident.
Police investigations have revealed that Rashid invited Faheem for dinner. Rashid and Shabnam have seven children; they all ate. After Rashid, Shabnam, and Faheem were sitting in a room, loud noises were heard. Rashid then fired at Faheem and Shabnam with a weapon. Police are currently investigating the number of bullets they received and the specific weapon used. However, it is certain that both were shot with a black-and-white firearm, making their escape impossible. Police have formed three teams to arrest Rashid, while the family locked the house and left after the incident.
