News Topical, Digital Desk : In the web series 'The Trial', a remake of the American web series 'The Good Wife' which came out about two years ago,  Kajol  played the role of lawyer Noyonika, while her husband Rajiv Sengupta was played by Jisshu Sengupta. Now its next part 'The Trial Season 2: Pyaar Kanoon Dhokha' will stream on Jio Hotstar. Kajol and Jisshu talked about the show and other aspects.

With Shrivastava...

The second season of the show is coming after two years. Do we have to watch the show again to see the return of the characters?

Jisshu Sengupta- I never watch my old work. It stays in the mind. When you come on the set or read the script, old memories are refreshed. I met director Umesh Bisht before the shooting. We talked about the character. He wanted to add some things to my role.

Kajol – The character is developed during shooting on the set.

Jishu Sengupta: Absolutely. That is what happened.

Kajol- But I watch my old work. I think I am my biggest critic. I have to watch my work so that I can improve it. I don't make the same old mistakes again. (Laughs) I want to make new mistakes. I watched its first season. At that time I felt that I could improve some things. That experience has come in handy in Season 2.

This time the issue of insider and outsider has been raised in the show. These issues are constantly raised in the industry too...

Jishu Sengupta- You have to prove yourself here. My father may have been a superstar, but I have to prove my worth every day, otherwise I don't know where I would have been. Because of my father, I may get two-three chances, but after that no one will invest money. Even my father will not invest. I believe that insiders actually have to struggle more to survive.

Kajol- Our country has a population of more than a billion and the success rate of people working in films is very low. That means even taking a chance here is a big deal. People who get success have to do a lot to maintain it. You have to work every day and prove yourself.

In the show, Noyonika wants to stay away from politics, but if you get a chance to join politics, what would you like to change?

Kajol- I don't understand politics. I can never enter politics even in my dreams. I will not enter into anything that I don't understand.

Jishu Sengupta- I also want to stay away from politics. I also do not understand what to say where. I chose another path in my life. I know acting. As its director Umesh Bisht has said that we have kept the same issues in it, through which we want to say something. But yes, there is a need to talk about the issue of women empowerment. Awareness about it is very important. This show is talking about them.

What mistakes are hard for you to forgive?

Jishu Sengupta- If you are making a mistake intentionally, then it is a mistake. We are all humans. I don't believe in black and white. We are all grey. At a point when we stand in front of the mirror, everyone knows what we have done right or wrong.

If I feel that I have committed a mistake unknowingly and I need to apologize for it, I will do so, whether he is older or younger than me. Kajol- My view is a little different. I believe that if the apology is made from the heart, then mistakes and misdeeds can be forgiven. You can forgive, but you cannot forget.

How was the experience of living women-related issues on screen?

It feels good because onscreen you win (laughs) whereas in real life sometimes you lose. I think onscreen is a great place where you can show women from this perspective. What are their problems, what are their circumstances, how the world sees them and how they see the world. I think Umesh ji has shown the world's perspective very well in the show.

Do you see any change in the fees paid to actresses now?

Now things are changing. I think you will be paid according to the audience you can bring. But yes,

Things are getting better.

Jishu, you said that you are playing the on-screen husband for money...

I have spoken seriously about money. I work only for money. I feel that I have talent, that's why I am cast. If I was not fit for this role, they would not have cast me. If I am getting future work only after seeing my past work, then I know that I am talented. It is not that I do not read roles. I definitely take a decision only after reading them. I don't think that the roles of husbands played in the past have been the same. This could be a perspective of the role of a husband. In 'The Trial', I am also a politician, not just a husband. He has political ambitions.
