News Topical, Digital Desk : Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tuesday that if Israel halts its air strikes by 4 a.m., Iran will also stop its attacks. This statement has come at a time when US President Donald Trump claimed a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. This statement by Araghchi is the first official comment from Iran in which they have clearly stated their conditions.
Araghchi wrote on the social media platform X at 4 am. “There is no agreement yet on a ceasefire or a halt to military actions. However, if the Israeli regime stops its unlawful attacks against the Iranian people by 4 am, we do not intend to continue retaliation after that,” he wrote.
Did Iranian Foreign Minister hint towards ceasefire?
After this, in another tweet, the Iranian Foreign Minister hinted that a ceasefire has taken place, but did not say it in clear words nor did he officially announce it.
He wrote, "The military operations of our powerful military forces, which were meant to punish Israel for its attack, continued until the last moment, i.e. until 4 am in the morning. Along with all Iranians, I thank our brave army, which is ready to protect its beloved country till the last drop of its blood and which responded to every attack of the enemy till the last moment."
